Fruit Cake #2, 2020.

Oil on canvas, 12”x16”. Definition of “Fruit Cake” is a “crazy or eccentric person.” I feel like this would be a great gift to give someone as a slight tease... maybe on their birthday. That is what I’m imagining. One Mom hack I used to do when the kids were little is get/make cakes and put candles on it for dessert. Toddlers love to sing happy birthday just for fun and blow candles etc. (After a big dinner party with lots of wine and laughs for adults.) Anyway, I thought a fruit cake was funny 😆. I painted this in an hour 💪 looking at a previous painting of mine which referenced Matisse.
