12"x12", oil on canvas. In this painting I combined Goya, Picasso, and Bosch… a scene with a goat, dog, tiny angle surrounded the scene of the horse being encircled by three men. All taking place in Picasso’s study of Malaga landscape. Using past famous paintings as references gives space to allow new ideas to take shape while I concentrate on the scale of tiny fields of colour laying next to each other… then on top of each other. I like to think of art references as visual pragmatism… tools one can grab and hammer away with. The imagination is mysterious. My favourite is the clown looking guy hugging the figure with his back to viewer… anyway
